I was born in New Delhi, into a middle-class business family. Business was the natural path for me—it ran in my blood. But life had other plans.
As a child, I was sent to a boarding school in Nainital, surrounded by hills and silence. Those years were more than just education—they were lessons in life. My teachers instilled in me values that no classroom textbook could cover: discipline, humility, and integrity. The boarding school days weren’t always easy, but they shaped my character, teaching me to stay grounded no matter how high I soared later in life.
By the time I finished college in 2008, I was expected to join the family business. And I did. But the routine of it—numbers, accounts, and the same old grind—felt suffocating. I wanted to carve my own path.
So, I left. I tried everything I could get my hands on—selling inverters, marketing real estate, working odd jobs. Each new attempt came with hope, but none gave me joy. I felt like I was drifting—until one day, a casual conversation changed everything.
I overheard someone talk about getting a tattoo. It sounded exciting, creative, alive. For the first time, I saw a profession that wasn’t about selling, but about creating something permanent, meaningful, and deeply personal. That was my spark.
With no time to waste, I began training under a renowned tattoo artist in Delhi. Once again, I was lucky to find a mentor who not only taught me technique but also the art of handling clients, running a studio, and respecting the craft.
Armed with skill and confidence, I opened my first studio: Tattoosphere Tattoo Studio|Tattoo Academy. It was my first real leap, and slowly, people began to trust me with their stories, their skin, and their art.
But then came the unexpected twist.
Clients started asking me, “Do you also do piercings?” At that time, I didn’t. But I couldn’t ignore the demand. Being a Baniya by blood, I had the instinct not to let business opportunities slip away.
So, I did what I’ve always done best—I learned on my own. I started small, with the most basic piercings like earlobes. Each session was a lesson. I researched endlessly, practiced, and perfected. There were no shortcuts—just patience, trial, error, and growth.
By 2013, piercing had become more than just an addition to my tattoo services. It became my calling.
Over time, my reputation grew. Clients trusted me because I wasn’t just piercing their skin—I was guiding them through the entire journey: from consultation to aftercare. My focus was always on ethics, hygiene, and comfort.
The name Lazy Piercer started as an inside joke, but it stuck. People liked the vibe—it was approachable, unpretentious, and different from the overly flashy names in the industry. Soon, “Lazy Piercer” wasn’t just a name; it was a brand people recognized and trusted.
Piercing gave me more than a career—it gave me an identity. I had gone from a young man confused about his future to someone shaping the piercing culture in India.
Through years of research, hands-on practice, and relentless commitment, I built not just a client base but a community of students and aspiring artists. Today, I run professional piercing training programs where I share everything I’ve learned—the techniques, the ethics, the discipline, and the values that were once instilled in me at school.
